International Designer: Ippolita
Italian artist and designer, Ippolita Rostagno founded Ippolita in 1999 to address a void in the fine jewelry market. She felt that at the time, fine jewelry was primarily traditional and worn only on special occasions. Rostagno pioneered the concept of cool fine jewelry designed to be worn every day and for all occasions and has remained a major player in jewelry industry for decades. Her journey to famed jewelry designer was not a linear path. Rostagno grew up in Florence, Italy and moved to Los Angeles in 1986 to pursue a dancing career, followed by a move to New York to pursue her passion of art and sculpture, which ultimately led into her designing of jewelry.
Since launching Ippolita, Rostagno has built a successful jewelry brand, attributing her success to craftsmanship and her creativity. “Ever since the launch of my collection in 1999, I have sought to create handcrafted jewelry that women want to wear all the time, that’s easy, comfortable and that makes you feel good,” Rostagno said. “My commitment to creativity and originality in design has always stood by the rule that real beauty is eternal. Fashionable doesn’t have to mean trendy, and timeless doesn’t have to be boring.”
