Santa Fe Artist: Jason Bonnell
Jason Bonnell, a third-generation silversmith, was born in Scottsdale but has resided in Santa Fe since the mid-1990s. He learned his trade in his family’s shop developing his own designs and mastering the art of lapidary.
Bonnell has mined his own turquoise stones in Nevada and has managed Santa Fe artist, Douglas Magnus’ Cerrillos Turquoise Mine as well.
“Turquoise is my thing,” says Bonnell. “I like working with it a lot.”
Bonnell’s latest collection, “Waves” is inspired by water. In each new piece you will see fluidity in the design, which features water-born stones such as pearls, as well as opals and turquoise, the color of water.
