Owl Post Earrings
Oxidized Sterling Silver and Fossil Owl Earrings by Michelle Tapia. These post earrings feature carved fossil to create the face and wings of the owl. They are enhanced by a crescent moon on the chest, flowers crowning the head and silver bead feet. They measure 7/8″ x 5/8″.
People who are familiar with scrimshaw are often times confused that a Spanish girl from New Mexico is working on fossilized (over 20,000 years old) walrus tusk. My designs are all from my heart and my culture. My love of animals and anything of beauty influence me most.” — Michelle Tapia
